SMART LOCKDOWN STRATEGY, SECOND AND THIRD WAVES OF COVID-19 IN PAKISTAN: A POLITICAL DISCOURSE ANALYSIS

Purpose: The present study investigates the violations of SOPs regarding spread COVID19 during political processional campaigns in Gilgit Baltistan and Senate elections Pakistan held just before second third waves COVID-19. For instance, first wave Pakistani government employed a smart lockdown along with persuasive awareness campaign. However, waves, it seemed that were not influential due to by politicians themselves.
 Method: researchers analyze journalistic text both verbal pictorial employing qualitative interpretive paradigm understand policies strategies parties their gatherings. Data have been collected from print media through purposive sampling technique. secondary data has various research publications establish background.
 Main Findings: analyzed response COVID-19 on part senate elections. Referent pictures (see Figures), taken authentic, official newspaper websites, showed ‘Political congregations rallies’, individuals attended events without requiring social distance masks. Both opposition ruling party workers approximately equal parts violate gain gains benefits.
 Application Study: suggests would conduct these types cause virus, especially when is considered worldwide pandemic. be socially politically beneficial for organizations groups learn how pandemic may affect masses if precautionary measures are followed adequately.
